Job summary

Prosegur is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer – Flex Officer in Santa Monica, CA. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment, monitoring access, and delivering professional customer service across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CA Guard Card and valid driver's license required.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to follow complex instructions and work under pressure.
• Interpersonal skills and customer service focus.
• Willingness to undergo screening: drug test and background check.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Experience as Concierge/Security Officer preferred (1 year).
• Customer service experience (2 years) and workplace tech use.
• Experience with visitor management, access control and CCTV.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure environment for customers and employees.
• Observe, report hazards and ensure client requirements are met.
• Follow post instructions and participate in training.
• Interact professionally with clients, visitors, and staff.
• Perform routine foot patrols and handle lifting as needed.
• Monitor entry/exit and control access and badge issuance.
• Log inbound/outbound activity and maintain DARs.
• Escort individuals and provide basic personal protection when required.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and respond to emergencies.
• Uphold policies and assist customers in a courteous manner.

Job Skills / Requirements

Duties and responsibilities:

• Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while providing general Unarmed security duties to our clients.
• Promote safety by being alert to observe, correct, and report any hazards.
• Understand and comply with Prosegur and Client requirements, as well as specific post instructions.
• Participate in training and become familiar with general safety procedures.
• Interact with clients, visitors, employees, and the public in a professional manner
• This position will require you to be customer service oriented and have basic to intermediate computer skills, as well as effective written and oral communication skills
• You must be able to perform routine foot patrols, moderate lifting, and work in all-weather elements as an Unarmed Security Officer
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security/safety of premises
• Logging inbound and outbound trucks, control/limit access to the facility at entry point to include visitor sign in/out logs, issue identification badges, etc
• Capable of walking to and from guard shack to trucks/be very agile
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property
• Guard, patrol, and monitor industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance
• Escort on foot or by motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection or to escort persons off customer property
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs)
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity
• Secure facility and designated areas
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures
• Investigate and prepare reports on incident

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• valid CA Guard Card
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Capable of following complex instructions
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to participate in the company's screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures
• 1-year prior Concierge Security Officer experience
• 2-year Customer Service
• Relevant computer experience: 1+ year using workplace technology such as:
• Visitor management systems
• Access control systems
• CCTV platforms
• Data entry and general computer applications
• valid drivers license
• reliable transportation
• good communications skills
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis.
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior

Shift: Flex Officer

Hours: Available for 2 shifts out of the day

Days: Available for 6 Days out of the week

• Pay Rate: $24.50
