Employment Opportunity: At Inter-Con we provide customized security solutions for our clients. As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will be part of a security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure and public venues that require an enhanced presence and asset protection services. This position is an integral part of the broad spectrum of specialized security services Inter-Con provides daily.

Responsibilities

• Access control of all entries by employees, vendors, contractors, visitors, etc.
• Ensure proper ID badge display and that employees and non-employees show a picture ID
• Patrol the grounds and interior of facilities as directed and document patrols in the daily activity report
• Maintain and carry the assigned company cell phone as required
• Monitor and observe the CCTV System at the Security Desk to identify potential threats or safety hazards; notify appropriate personnel or agency as needed
• Monitor dock doors and personnel doors through the CCTV system and confirm reasoning for openings
• Assist employees in an orderly evacuation and muster points in case of fire or other emergency
• Observe and report suspicious activity or situations and use communication and judgment to prioritize responsibilities
• Ensure all lights and televisions are off when not needed in designated areas
• Observe facility areas for leaks during each round
• Confirm gauges, monitors, and panels are functioning in designated locations
• Monitor and respond to all alarms; notify maintenance or engineering as appropriate
• Check for fluid leaks or unusual smells
• Inspect for water left running or leaks in restrooms and kitchens
• Observe unusual noises or vibrations from mechanical devices
• Ensure dock and personnel doors are closed and secure
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Speak, read, and write English
• Must be age 21 or older
• High school diploma or equivalency
• High level of integrity and exemplary security skills and judgment
• Above-average computer skills and possession of all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications required for the assignment
• Pass a background check
• Pass a 5-panel drug test
