Job Description

• Entry and egress access control
• Roving patrols of interior and exterior areas
• De-escalating disruptive behavior
• Communicating with site employees about incidents
• Visitor and employee ID verification
• Parking lot traffic management
• Reviewing security alerts
• Managing crowd and traffic control
• Transporting employees between parking areas
• Preparing incident reports
• Monitoring intrusion detection, cameras, alarms, and fire systems
• Supporting life safety duties and procedures
• Gathering incident data
• Consulting on security strategies
• Other tasks as requested
• Visitor sign-in and badge issuance
• Periodic patrols inside and outside
• Deterring unauthorized access
• Monitoring alarms and safety equipment
• Preventing hazards and assisting in safety restoration
• Safeguarding property and persons, summoning response forces
• Investigating alarms and suspicious activity
• Maintaining scene integrity
• Accompanying staff after dark
• Checking safety and electrical conditions
• Reporting hazards and safety issues
• Maintaining order without unreasonable risk

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak, understand, and write English for reporting and training
• Ability to operate communication devices

Requirements

Basic:

• Pass criminal background check and fingerprinting
• Pass drug screening
• Complete post-specific training

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum 24 months of verifiable security experience

Licensing and Permits:

• Virginia Guard Registration Card
• Valid ID, driver’s license, or passport

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
