Job Overview:
We are looking for a professional, responsible, and vigilant Unarmed Security Officer to join our team at a state-of-the-art industrial facility . As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of the premises, employees, visitors, and assets of the facility. The role requires constant vigilance and the ability to respond to a variety of security situations in a calm and controlled manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol Facility: Conduct routine patrols to monitor the safety of building, equipment, and grounds. Patrols must cover entrances, exits, parking lot, and other designated zones within the facility.
- Monitor Security Systems: Actively monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems for any suspicious activity or potential security breaches. Report any incidents promptly and take appropriate action.
- Access Control: Control access to the facility by checking IDs, verifying authorized personnel, and ensuring that no unauthorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Incident Response: Respond quickly and efficiently to alarms, emergencies, or disturbances. Provide clear documentation and report incidents in writing.
- Visitor Screening: Greet visitors and vendors, ensure proper identification, and direct them as needed. Ensure all guests follow facility guidelines and sign in/out.
- Safety Protocol Enforcement: Enforce all security and safety policies, including emergency evacuation plans, fire drills, and reporting safety hazards or security violations.
- Report Writing: Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all patrols, incidents, and daily activities. Prepare and submit reports at the end of each shift.
- Emergency Assistance: Assist in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire evacuations, or safety threats, by coordinating with emergency responders and following established protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- DCJS Unarmed Security Certificate is required.
- Previous Security Experience: While prior experience in security or law enforcement is preferred, it is not mandatory. Training and on-the-job coaching will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to walk, stand, and remain alert for extended periods of time.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to notice irregularities, unusual behavior, or security threats and take appropriate action.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, visitors, law enforcement, and emergency personnel.
- Ability to Work Independently: Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work with minimal supervision, particularly during night or early morning shifts.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfort with using surveillance systems, access control systems, and other digital tools to ensure security operations run smoothly.
