Job summary

TriCorps is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in Alexandria, Virginia, to maintain safety for students, staff, and visitors in a school setting. You will monitor access, patrol grounds, and respond to incidents while upholding professional standards.

Applicants must have a current DCJS Security Officer Certification and a Virginia Security License; high school diploma or equivalent is required. Both full-time and part-time shifts, including weekends and school events, are available.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to school grounds, entrances, and buildings to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Provide a professional and reassuring presence while interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
• Conduct patrols of campus facilities and outdoor areas to deter and detect potential safety or security concerns.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or requests for assistance and follow established protocols.
• Communicate clearly with school staff, law enforcement, and TriCorps management regarding safety issues or incidents.
• Prepare accurate and detailed reports documenting daily activity, observations, and incidents.
• Support emergency procedures and assist during drills or crisis situations as directed.
