UNARMED SECURITY GUARD (Tampa)

UNARMED Security Guard: Job Scope/Overview
Our unarmed Security Officers are responsible for day-to-day security of employees and other individuals passing through secured screening locations that are opened 24-hours a day covered in 3 shifts.

UNARMED Security Guard Essential Duties:

1. Observe and monitor the actions of individuals considering entering the secured area.
2. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner.
3. Take reasonable and prudent action to ensure the safety of all individuals, employees, and client assets.
4. Immediate reporting to management all unusual or suspicious activity.
5. Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service for visitors, customers, and employees.

Location/Site/Post Specific Additional Duties:

1. Construction site perimeter gate and access control checks.
2. Control the security post area using prescribed actions to meet entry and denial criteria.
3. Verify all persons' credentials and badges, ensuring the name, company, and expiration date are all present on the badge.
4. Verify that the picture matches the person seeking access.
5. Responsible for identifying dangerous objects and preventing those objects from being transported through screening locations.
6. Perform vehicle inspections according to Standard Operating Protocols and post orders.
7. Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
8. Conduct thorough security screenings of personal items, deliveries, merchandise, and cargo in accordance with inspection requirements using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other diverse, cutting-edge electronic detection and imaging equipment.
9. Monitor surveillance cameras and patrol perimeter of designated areas to detect and deter potential security breaches. Working environments and conditions may vary by site location.
10. Additional location security related duties to ensure safety of all individuals.

Job Requirements:

1. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
2. Must possess a valid Florida Class-D Security License.
3. Must have completed - High School Diploma or G.E.D.
4. Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
5. Must be able to pass a verifiable background check, including criminal employment, education, and personal references.
6. You must possess a valid state-issued Driver’s License or a valid state-issued I.D. card.
7. Must be able to pass pre-employment / annual / random drug screenings.
8. Must have reliable transportation.
9. Must be able to work and interact with the public.
10. Must have the flexibility to work around changing schedules, including being available to work shifts throughout the day, afternoon, evening, and overnight as required.

Physical Demands:

1. Ability to stand for extended periods of time with few breaks.
2. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
3. Ability to twist, squat, and bend over without physical limitations.
4. Ability to perform patrols including walking long distances and going up and down stairs.
5. Ability to protect yourself or others in the event of a physical disturbance.
6. Must be comfortable with conditions that range from Summer Heat to Winter Conditions.
7. Open availability without restraints due to other part-time jobs, etc.
