*This position requires an active Unarmed NCPPSB security license.*
Shift: Part-Time, Fridays and Saturdays, 2200-0600
Responsibilities:
Access Control
- Follow proper Access Control policies and procedures for personnel, vehicles, and location.
- Familiarity with hours of operation of the building, along with the arrivals and departures of buses.
- Ensure all personnel, including employees, riders, and park-and-ride commuters, are parking in their assigned areas.
- Thoroughly check access points and restrooms to ensure there is no loitering or security violations occurring.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, especially if a vehicle has been left unlocked and there are valuable items left in plain sight. This will require the Security Guard to provide a warning to the owner of the vehicle in order to prevent theft of the items.
- Formulate and issue written warnings to violators.
- Report to GoTriangle’s Park & Ride Coordinator if there are unauthorized vehicles present, that are either parked or seem to be abandoned.
Site Surveillance
- Continuously monitor the public to prevent possible disturbances.
- Identify and report any security and/or safety violations.
- Keep track and maintain up-to-date documentation of any safety and/or security incidents.
- Contact law enforcement about any unauthorized or illegal activities, when needed.
- Ensure prompt responses to prevent or minimize losses, accidents, fires, property damage, safety hazards, and security incidents.
- Ensure that CCTV security systems and Fire Panels are continuously monitored.
Daily Log Maintenance and Incident Reporting
- Ensure all activity witnessed is properly documented and provide further assistance for law enforcement, when needed.
- Maintain a daily log that outlines all routine business, emergency calls, and incidents.
Emergency Situations
- Follow proper protocols and procedures for emergency situations: break-ins, assaults, trespassing, vandalism, etc.
- Manage service interruptions.
- Handle fire/life safety incidents.
- When directed by designated staff, ensure that doors are locked and the incident is being responded to.
- Contact Emergency Service Personnel, when needed.
Requirements:
- Active NCPPSB Unarmed security license along with your physical Unarmed NCPPSB card.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Prior Security, Military, and/or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
- Customer service experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements:
- Physical fitness test, if needed.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- This position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, walking flights of stairs, running, and the ability to defend themselves or others.
