Job summary

New Age Protection, Inc. in Charleston, SC is seeking a vigilant security officer to patrol grounds, monitor facilities, and respond to incidents.

The role requires an active SLED license, a valid SC driver’s license, and strong communication skills. You will log entries, review emergency plans, and work to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access. Open availability and prior security or military experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have an active SLED license and the physical card.
• Prior security, military, and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Open availability preferred.
• Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Patrol the grounds, buildings, and parking lots.
• Maintain security booths and security vehicles.
• Secure buildings and monitor security systems.
• Report incidents to the local authorities as needed.
• Drive patrol car/golf cart to monitor activity and assist on-site.
• Log in/out personnel entering and leaving the worksite.
• Review the emergency plan regularly to ensure compliance with state, local, and federal laws.
• Report any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions and provide a report of the incident.
• Aid in preventing vandalism, theft, malicious mischief, trespass, active shooter, or use of facilities equipment.
• Have working knowledge of South Carolina laws of search and seizure, contraband, and weapons violations.
• Other related duties as may be assigned.

Physical Requirements

Must be in good physical condition to perform the essential duties of the position.

• Ability to lift at least 50 Lbs.
• This position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, walking flights of stairs, running, and demonstrate the ability to defend themselves or others.
• Physical fitness test.
• This position may potentially require the need to climb a ladder.

Qualifications

• Must have an active SLED License, along with having the physical card.
• Prior Security, Military, and / or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• Must be a High School graduate or possess a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Open availability preferred.
• Must have a Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
• Possess exceptional communication skills, verbally and written, along with organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
