Job Summary
This role requires an Unarmed Security Officer to conduct foot patrols in various environments and provide superior service to customers and employees. Key duties include composing reports, monitoring CCTV, controlling access, deterring criminal activity, and maintaining site safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct unarmed foot patrol within governmental, corporate, retail, or fast‑food environments.
- Compose reports and maintain written logs as required.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems; sound alarms and call authorities in case of fire, intrusion or other emergencies.
- Control access and egress, permit authorized persons, and review entrances and exits using handheld wands or walk‑through magnetometers.
- Prevent theft of company property and other security incidents.
- Engage and assist guests following G.E.T. principals: greet warmly, engage proactively, and thank patrons.
- Scan for potential threats and monitor for irregular or unsafe conditions.
- Develop rapport with customers, assess needs, and provide information about local area and attractions.
- Guide customers to destinations or key points of interest and respond to inquiries.
- Assist with basic first aid, emergency notifications, and general safety procedures.
- Perform security patrols on foot or in vehicle as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State licensed unarmed security guard card/license if required by location.
- Driver’s license and pass state licensing test if required to drive company or client vehicles.
- At least 18 years old; U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience: At least one year as a security officer strongly preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Active listening and ability to assess situations accurately.
- Attention to detail and good judgment.
- Proactive, initiative‑driven, and resourceful.
- Ability to operate radio/telephone equipment and console monitors.
- Drug screen and provision of DD214 if applicable.

Physical Requirements
Indoor and outdoor work in temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat. Major activities include walking, standing, speaking, listening, and observing. Physical tasks involve standing, walking, and sitting with minimal stooping or kneeling.
