Job summary

Strategic Security Corp. is seeking an Unarmed Security Guard for a Saturday 6pm-11:30pm shift to provide a visible security presence and protect people and property across government, corporate, retail, or commercial settings.

You will conduct patrols, monitor access points, report incidents, and assist with emergencies while delivering professional customer service. Requirements include a HS diploma and a valid security license where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a State Unarmed Security Guard License, if required by state or local law.
• Must pass applicable state licensing tests if operating a company-owned or client-provided vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine security patrols on foot or by vehicle as assigned.
• Observe, report, and deter theft, misconduct, and suspicious behavior.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.
• Control entry and exit points and verify authorized access.
• Identify and address safety hazards or irregular conditions.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies; notify law enforcement or emergency services as required.
• Assist with basic first aid and emergency notifications.
• Prepare detailed written reports on incidents, accidents, and suspicious activity.
• Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and orderly post area at all times.

Overview

As an Unarmed Security Guard, you will be responsible for providing a visible security presence and maintaining a safe and secure environment within government, corporate, retail, or commercial settings. This role requires professionalism, strong situational awareness, and excellent customer service skills. Hiring for Saturdays 6pm-11:30pm shift.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and random security patrols on foot or by vehicle, as assigned
• Observe, report, and deter theft, misconduct, and suspicious behavior
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems
• Control entry and exit points and verify authorized access

• Greet and welcome customers, guests, tenants, and associates in a professional and courteous manner
• Engage proactively with individuals to provide assistance, information, or direction
• Thank individuals for patronizing the location and promote a positive environment
• Anticipate and respond to customer questions regarding the site, surrounding area, and available services
• Assist with guest services such as directions, transportation guidance, and area attractions
• Troubleshoot customer concerns and escalate issues to management when appropriate

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess or be able to obtain a State Unarmed Security Guard License, if required by state or local law
• Must pass applicable state licensing tests if operating a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Experience

• Verifiable work history required
• One (1) year of security experience

Skills & Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow post orders and company procedures
• Proficient basic computer skills (e.g., report writing, Microsoft Office)
• Ability to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions
• High attention to detail and strong observational skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
• Proactive, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision

Additional Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age (or higher if required by state law)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to operate radios, telephones, and monitoring equipment
• Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and good judgment
• Must be personable, approachable, and capable of building rapport with the public
• Subject to drug screening, background check, and other pre-employment requirements as permitted by law
• Veterans may be required to provide a DD214 upon offer of employment

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Work performed indoors and outdoors; exposure to varying temperatures, including heat and cold
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, observing, and communicating
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods with minimal stooping or kneeling
