What you'll do...

The Unarmed Security Guard (UG) is a part of TCS Security, responsible for protecting our clients' premises, assets, and personnel. The UG maintains a high visibility presence to prevent illegal or inappropriate actions and provides unarmed guard services to ensure a safe environment for employees and visitors at both internal and external sites.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Provide site monitoring, perimeter surveys, public assistance, and emergency notifications.
• Follow oral and written instructions, and instruct others on rules and duties.
• Interact professionally and courteously with the public.
• Ensure unauthorized persons are not in the building and monitor activities to enforce rules.
• Perform duties according to Post Orders, SOPs, and contractual requirements.
• Manage visitor access, issue ID badges, and escort visitors as needed.
• Control parking access and enforce parking rules.
• Operate security equipment such as access scanners and search devices.
• Refrain from alcohol consumption before shifts and report under the influence.
• Use cell phones appropriately during shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Report security issues or unusual activities.
• Handle government property responsibly and report losses or damages.

Qualifications and requirements

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience

• At least two years of security guard service experience.

Skills and certifications

• Must be 21+, able to obtain Maryland Guard Card.
• Pass background checks and drug screening.
• Physically and mentally capable of duties, with good vision and hearing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Able to exercise judgment and handle emergencies calmly.

Training

• CPR, First Aid, De-escalation, and other mandated training.

Compensation and benefits

Pay: $16.00/hour, with benefits including medical, prescription, and 401(k).
