Maarif School in Wayne, New Jersey, is accepting applications for a full-time Unarmed Security Guard for the 2027–2028 academic year at our new campus in Wayne, New Jersey. The role involves monitoring entrances, managing visitor check-in, patrolling campus, and supporting safety operations with staff and responders.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, is legally authorized to work in the United States, and can stay calm under pressure.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous security experience in school safety or related field preferred.
• SORA certification required when applicable to duties.
• Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and visitor management.
• Strong observation, communication, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to respond calmly and professionally to emergencies and challenging situations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor entrances, exits, access points, and visitor check-in procedures.
• Maintain a visible, professional security presence and conduct regular campus patrols.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access-control equipment as assigned.
• Identify, document, and report suspicious activity, unauthorized visitors, and safety concerns.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, events, and crowd management.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies per school procedures.
• Support lockdowns, evacuations, and drills as needed.
• Maintain security logs, visitor records, and incident reports.
• Communicate concerns to school administration and coordinate with responders.

We are seeking a reliable, attentive, and professional individual to help protect students, staff, families, and visitors. The selected candidate will monitor campus security, manage visitor access, and support school safety operations while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, school safety, or a related field preferred.
• Valid New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) certification required when applicable to the employment arrangement and assigned duties.
• Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and visitor management.
• Strong observation, communication, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to respond calmly and professionally to emergencies and challenging situations.
• Dependable, punctual, discreet, and capable of working independently while following school policies.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor school entrances, exits, access points, and visitor check-in procedures.

• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access-control equipment as assigned.
• Identify, document, and report suspicious activity, unauthorized visitors, and safety concerns.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, school events, assemblies, and crowd management.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies in accordance with established school procedures.
• Support lockdowns, evacuations, emergency fire drills, and school safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate security logs, visitor records, and incident reports.
• Communicate concerns promptly to school administration and coordinate with emergency responders or law enforcement when necessary.
• Inspect school facilities and grounds for safety hazards and unsecured areas.
• Maintain confidentiality and interact respectfully with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
• Perform other school security-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in school security, unarmed security, or a related field.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational environment.
• Valid New Jersey SORA certification.
• Familiarity with school emergency procedures, visitor management, and surveillance systems.
• Training in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and emergency preparedness.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
