Job summary

Prosegur in Maryland is hiring Unarmed Part-Time Overnight Retail Security Officers to maintain a safe indoor environment for clients, customers and staff. You will patrol, monitor checkpoints, write detailed DAR entries and assist customers calmly.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Maryland Security Guard License, at least 1 year of security experience, and the ability to stand for long periods and walk stairs.

• Open availability for all shifts; reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security/safety of premises.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Guard, patrol, and monitor industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
• Escort on foot or by motor vehicle to transport individuals or to escort persons off property.
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs).
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity.
• Secure facility and designated areas.
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures.
• Investigate and prepare reports on incidents.
• Adhere to Post Orders.

The person in this position will maintain a safe and secure indoor environment for clients, customers, contractors and other workers by patrolling, tagging indicated checkpoints, monitoring premises, writing a detailed DAR entry and occasionally performing search procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Maryland Security Guard License
• Must have one (1) year of experience as a security officer, preference to those with prior retail security experience.
• Must have open availability to work all shifts and schedules as needed
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have good communications skills
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis.
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior

Physical Requirements: This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)
• Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
