Job summary

Prosegur in Frederick, MD is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to maintain a safe indoor/outdoor environment for clients and staff. You will patrol, monitor access, write detailed DARs, and respond to incidents with professionalism and discretion.

The role requires a valid MD guarding license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to stand for long portions of shift. Open shifts and weekends may be available, with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and others to guard against theft and maintain safety.
• Circulate among visitors and staff to preserve order and protect property.
• Guard, patrol, and monitor premises to prevent hazards, theft, or violations.
• Enforce rules and respond to emergencies requiring security assistance.
• Escort individuals or provide protection and remove from property as needed.
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily DARs.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance to customers, employees, and visitors.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity.
• Secure facility and designated areas.
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures.
• Investigate and prepare incident reports.
• Adhere to Post Orders.

Physical Requirements: This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)
• Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
