A leading security services provider is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer for transit stations in Chicago. Responsibilities include patrolling rail stations, interacting with the public, and ensuring safety through surveillance. Candidates must possess a PERC license, pass drug and background checks, and be at least 21 years old. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and strong integrity. Qualifications

• Must possess a current guard card license as required by state or local law (PERC).
• Must pass a 5-panel drug test prior to placement.
• Must pass a psychological and physical examination.
• Must pass a criminal history check.
• Must have employment verification back to age 18.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; possession of a college degree is highly desirable.
• Speak, read, and write English.
• Individuals should have high integrity and exemplary security skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrol via foot and monitor activities at rail stations, rail cars, and facilities.
• Complete a twenty (20) hour Basic Unarmed Security Guard Training Course.
• Interact with the public and CTA personnel with professional interpersonal skills.
• Work in teams and report to duty in contractor uniform.
• Possess and use security equipment as certified.
• Monitor for suspicious persons or vehicles; report incidents as necessary.
• Assist, inform and direct CTA customers.
• Guard against unauthorized access and criminal acts.
• Control and monitor access and assess threats.
