Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore, MD seeks a Security Officer to help ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. You will patrol hospital property, respond to calls for assistance, report potential risks, and assist with crisis intervention.

The role supports a 24/7 operation, mentors staff and requires flexibility with shifts; prior security or law enforcement experience is preferred. The position may involve obtaining specialized police commissions and working across hospital teams

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years related security or law enforcement experience required.
• Driver License valid in state required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies and safety standards.
• Responds immediately to emergencies to assist employees and customers.
• Patrols facility as directed and may use security vehicle or bicycle.
• Monitors lobbies, waiting areas, elevators and entrances.
• Prepares and submits incident reports and maintains records.
