Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time unarmed Campus Prevention Patrol in Cleveland, OH. You will patrol campuses, deter incidents, and assist students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a strong, visible security presence.

The role emphasizes customer service, compliance with campus policies, and timely reporting of security events. Minimum requirements include 18 years of age, high school diploma, background check, and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence-adjacent locations, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate observations to supervisors and campus stakeholders as required.
