Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to perform all types of ultrasound procedures across ages in a clinical setting. You will operate all ultrasound equipment, adhere to scanning policies, schedule patients, and ensure quality control.

Qualified candidates will have ARRT or ARDMS certification, graduate from Radiologic Technology program, and a minimum of 1 year related experience. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree-Related Field (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred)
  • Sonography certifications: ARRT; RDMS (preferred) and BLS; RCS listed in credentials

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment and perform all types of ultrasound procedures.
  • Follow established scanning policies and procedures.
  • Order supplies needed for ultrasound procedures.
  • Maintain quality control and QA on equipment.
  • Document malfunctions and contact service engineers when needed.
  • Schedule patients and organize daily ultrasound workflow.
  • Maintain records for quality control results and service records.
  • Imaging exams and tray setup involve handling non-controlled medications.

Job Duties
  • Operates all ultrasound equipment and performs all types of ultrasound procedures.
  • Follows established policies and procedures for scanning.
  • Orders all supplies needed for ultrasound procedures.
  • Keeps adequate linen supply available.
  • Documents equipment malfunctions and calls service engineer when needed.
  • Schedules patients for ultrasound procedures.
  • Organizes daily schedule and gives appropriate instructions.
  • Assists in performing quality control on equipment and quality assurance studies.
  • Maintains standards and records for all quality control checks on equipment.
  • Maintains quality assurance by using comparison studies between ultrasound and other modalities such as angiography or comparison with surgical results.
  • Maintains all required records including quality control and quality assurance results and service records.
  • Performs scans daily.
  • Imaging exams and procedure tray set up require access and handling of non-controlled medications.

Sonography (S) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body; Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
