Job summary

Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN seeks a PRN Ultrasound Vascular Technologist for day shifts, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday with rotating weekends and holidays. Provides diagnostic non-invasive vascular ultrasound imaging and collaborates with radiologists and staff.

Must maintain patient safety and comfort, and meet vascular imaging protocols. Requires ARDMS/CCI/ARRT certifications, BLS, and 0-3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant ultrasound experience.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) required; Advanced Life Support may be required.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and position patients as needed.
• Active registry/certifications RVT/VT, RVS, RT(VS) per ARRT/CCI/ARRT requirements.
• May require ISDH license depending on state.
• May require experience in diagnostic ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound imaging and obtain high-quality images.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals to interpret images.
• Explain procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort during ultrasound exams.
• Adhere to vascular imaging protocols and accreditation guidelines; provide intraoperative ultrasound if requested.

Ball Memorial Hospital is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Vascular Technologist for a day shift opportunity. The scheduled working hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday with rotating coverage for weekends and holidays.

Job Description:

Provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound to generate non-invasive images of the vascular system. Possesses knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology. Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and makes necessary adjustments to capture the best possible images. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information. Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Complies with vascular imaging protocols per accreditation guidelines. Provides intraoperative ultrasound as requested.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology, RVT (VT); Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Vascular Sonographer, RVS; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Vascular Sonography RT(VS).
• May require experience in diagnostic ultrasound, if applicable.
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
