Job summary

Valley Regional Hospital is seeking an Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist to join our team. You will select equipment, explain procedures, and ensure patient safety while documenting findings accurately.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of Ultrasound/Vascular experience, ARDMS RDMS AB and RVT, and a current BCLS certification. A BS is preferred but not required, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred, but not required.
• Two years of Ultrasound/Vascular experience.
• ARDMS RDMS abdomen (AB) and vascular (RVT) registered.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Confidentiality and professionalism required.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate equipment for ultrasound setup according to exam specs.
• Explains and performs procedures considering patient understanding and age.
• Assess patient pain and contact physician for intervention when needed.
• Ensure patient safety and minimize medical errors.
• Choose transducer and adjust controls per body part and test specs.
• Operate and maintain all ultrasound equipment properly.
• Perform procedures in line with standards and protocols.
• Document patient information accurately.
• Adjust and maintain equipment as required.

At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for an Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist is:

• Selects appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.
• Explains and performs the procedure with consideration to the level of understanding and age appropriateness for the patient.
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure - makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the body part to be examined, the depth of field and other specifications of the test.
• Understands and practices proper use of all equipment.
• Performs procedures in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Document patient information appropriately.
• Adjust and maintain equipment

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.
• Two years of Ultrasound/Vascular experience.
• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)- Currently registered- minimal certifications- RDMS abdomen (AB) and vascular (RVT)
• Current BCLS certification.
• High integrity, able to follow procedures.
• Ability to be a self-motivated learner, to take initiative in learning the many complex processes.
• Exhibits professionalism at all times, understands appropriate workplace behavior/communications.
• Confidentiality a must.
