Overview

This position is PRN at Tipton Hospital. Provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound to generate images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment. Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and makes necessary adjustments to capture the best possible images. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information. Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Maintains compliance with high-level disinfection practices. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed. Possesses familiarity with ultrasound contrast indications and administration practices. Provides intraoperative ultrasound as requested.

Qualifications

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when patient condition does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active credentials through ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI as per facility accreditation requirements, or candidates actively pursuing ultrasound education with relevant passing scores or graduation, with certification within specified timeframes.
  • May require Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license, if applicable.
