Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures and produce diagnostic images for physicians. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care and timely service in a clinical setting.

The candidate should have an associates degree in ultrasound and may require RDMS/ARDMS/ARRT credentials or obtain within 2 years. EHR and PACS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Ultrasound required.
• RDMS/ARDMS/ARRT preferred or must obtain within 2 years.
• BLS preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care.
• RDMS in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/ Gynecology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures and produces diagnostic images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
• Ensures quality, accuracy, and confidentiality of patient, lab, and procedural data.
• Prepares procedures, documents findings, and relays impressions to physicians.
• Participates in performance improvement projects and staff education.

Job Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures and techniques producing diagnostic images for a licensed practitioner to interpret. The Tech demonstrates direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner.

Essential Functions

• Confirms the quality, accuracy, and confidentiality of all pertinent patient, lab, and procedural data.
• Knowledge in workflows, procedures, and processes of the imaging modalities.
• Responsible for patient documentation, procedure preparation and instructions.
• Documents sonographer's impressions and relays findings to physician.
• Participates in performance improvement projects and the education of new staff.

Education

• Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound (required)

Licensure/Certification

• Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (preferred, or must obtain within 2 years)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)

Experience

• 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
• Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)

Range

• Minimum: $45.00
• Maximum: $45.00
