Job summary

Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology team. The Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams under a Radiologist, producing high-quality images to aid in diagnosis and patient care in a collaborative hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with ARDMS certification and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Current ARDMS certification (or registry eligible).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Previous hospital ultrasound experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images with accurate measurements and annotations for radiologist interpretation.
• Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures as appropriate.
• Maintain and disinfect ultrasound equipment according to hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
• Accurately document examinations within the EMR and PACS systems.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to provide coordinated patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital and safety standards.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency.

Position Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist, producing high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care.

• Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images with accurate measurements and annotations for radiologist interpretation.
• Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Current ARDMS certification (or registry eligible, if applicable).
• Current BLS certification required.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
