Main tasks include:

Ultrasound Technologist

The Sonographer reports to the designated leader within the Imaging Department.

  • Provide clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and act as a resource to students, residents, fellows, and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
  • Administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies and procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
  • Demonstrate safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.

Qualification

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently
  • Diploma from a certified school of Radiology required
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Sonographer; acute care experience preferred
  • Current RDMS license required
  • Breast and Vascular registry preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
