Job summary

MEP Health in Sparks Corner, MD is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine and specialized sonographic procedures, ensuring accurate imaging for patients of all ages. The role requires adherence to scanning protocols, proper equipment use, and maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic exams with high image quality, educating patients, maintaining a clean environment, and transferring images to PACS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program; registry eligible.
• Associate's degree in health sciences or related field preferred.
• ARDMS or AART (S) certification within 1 year of hire; physics registry completed.
• Current BLS certification required.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic ultrasound exams, ensuring image quality and accuracy.
• Educate and prepare patients, obtain medical histories, and document exams.
• Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment by following infection control standards and disinfecting probes.
• Monitor and support ultrasound equipment and supplies, perform quality control, and report issues.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, support staff and student education, and ensure timely image documentation and transfer to PACS.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program; registry eligible required.
• Associate's degree in health sciences or related field preferred.
• Certification in ARDMS or AART (S) within 1 year of hire; physics registry completed upon hire.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Additional Details

• Must be able to work weekend day and/or night shifts.
• Position offers an hourly range of USD $35.68 - $64.71.
