Amberwell Health Hiawatha is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to image anatomy using ultrasound equipment, prepare exam rooms, and assist radiologists with procedures and biopsies. Qualified candidates typically have ARDMS/ARDMS registry credentials, BLS, and licensure where required, with experience or progression toward RDMS/RDCS specialties.

Qualifications

  • AR DMS program and/or ARRT ultrasound training are required or preferred.
  • Active licensure as RT with KSBHA if applicable.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • RDMS/RVT/RDCS credentials are expected or pursued within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and operate ultrasound equipment for imaging.
  • Acquire and document images/videos of anatomy and potential abnormalities.
  • Notify radiology staff of concerning findings promptly and discretely.
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure sterile, organized environment.
  • Assist radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sonography equipment; manage multiple patients in a fast-paced setting.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:An Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for using ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy functions. Ultrasound technologist duties include calibrating and manipulating ultrasound equipment, taking images or videos of potential abnormalities, and discreetly notifying medical personnel if they identify anything concerning. Other responsibilities of the ultrasound technologist include preparing the exam room for examinations, assisting radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies, and maintaining sonography equipment. An ultrasound technologist must be able to manage multiple patients and competing priorities, adapt quickly to a fast-paced clinical setting, and collaborate effectively with the care team while operating with minimal supervision.ABOUT AMBERWELL HEALTH:Amberwell Health is a healthcare system dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the communities we serve, providing compassionate healthcare with clinical excellence. RDCS is beneficial. If certification is not obtained before hire, then completion is as follows:1) completion of minimum RVT registry within six (6) months of hire2) Completion of 2nd registry (RDMS Abdomen or RDMS OB/Gyn) within twelve (12) months of employment.3) completion of the third registry (RDMS Abdomen or RDMS OB/Gyn) within twenty-four (24) months of employment
