Job summary

Medical City Alliance is seeking a Part Time Ultrasound Technologist to join our diagnostic team in Fort Worth. The role requires performing ultrasound procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians with ultrasound-guided biopsies, documenting results, and mentoring new staff. The position emphasizes excellent communication and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ultrasound procedures performed with prescribed technique and safety.
• Must be registered by RDMS in Abdomen or OB/GYN within 6 months.
• BLS certification from an HCA approved vendor is required.
• Technical degree or vocational training completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures per prescribed methods.
• Explain procedures to patients and address concerns.
• Operate, adjust and calibrate ultrasound equipment.
• Document test data and patient information in the system.
• Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided biopsies or invasive procedures.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow Standard Precautions.
• Performs high-level disinfection as required.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• The Ultrasound Technologist conducts procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include:
• Performs diagnostic procedures applying prescribed methods of ultrasound technique.
• Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field and other specifications of test.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
• Keys test data and patient information into computer to maintain record of test results.
• Assists physician with ultrasound guided biopsies and/or invasive procedures.
• Maintains and calibrates equipment.
• Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material.
• Assists with transporting patients.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to make independent decisions while maintaining tact, maturity and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment required in assuming responsibilities.
• Performs high-level disinfection.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

• Technical degree or vocational training

Experience:

• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.

Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications:

• Registered by R.D.M.S. in Abdomen or Ob/Gyn within 6 months of hire, promotion or completion of training program.
• Registered by R.D.M.S (RVT) or (RVS) by C.C.I.
• BLS from HCA approved vendor required.
