Job summary

Envision Radiology is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures on adult and pediatric patients and assist radiologists during specialized exams. The role requires strong patient education, attention to detail, and teamwork within a fast-paced department.

The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited Sonography program, with ARDMS RVT or ARRT VS registry preferred, and CPR/BLS certification. State license if applicable is required where allowed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Sonography program.
• Current ARDMS RVT or ARRT VS registry preferred; OB/GYN registry preferred.
• State medical board license if applicable; CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to educate patients, stay organized, and function in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures for adult and pediatric patients.
• Assist Radiologists during specialized exams to obtain quality images.
• Review charts for medical history, consent, and implants as needed.
• Coordinate scan protocols with Radiologists and transfer images as required.
• Maintain and inspect ultrasound equipment; report any deficiencies.
• Communicate effectively with Lead Technologist and Center/Area Manager.

Job description

Envision Imaging is adding an Ultrasound Technologist to the team!

Fridays 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM & Saturdays 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Pay Range $40.75 - $52.54

Summary/Objective:

Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Assists radiologists during specialized exams to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions

• 1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
• 2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
• 3. Performs ultrasound scans and prints images while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
• 4. Assists Radiologist on specialized exams.
• 5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• 6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
• 7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
• 8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Physical Demands

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Ultrasound – preferred
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
• Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
• Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT (VS) registry – preferred
• Current ARDMS Registered Obstetrician/Gynecology Technologist (OB/GYN) or ARRT (S) registry - preferred
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
