Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to assist with ultrasound examinations and technical support for Radiologists. This role requires an Associates Degree and accreditation in Ultrasound from a recognized program. Applicants must be prepared to perform various duties including operating ultrasound equipment and mentoring new staff while ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation examination prior to hire.
  • Commencing work within 14 days of graduation.
  • Successful completion of one specialty examination within 75 days from date of hire.

The Per Diem Ultrasound Technician performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, renders technical assistance to the Radiologist, and maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment.

The Per Diem Ultrasound Technician performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, renders technical assistance to the Radiologist, and maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and examines all patients for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques.
  • Operates and adjusts ultrasound equipment, takes safety precautions necessary to protect patients and personnel from electric shock or other hazards.
  • Sets up, operates, cleans and makes minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment.
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for use.
  • Assists in the orientation and mentor new Ultrasound personnel.
  • Captures images onto PACS and transfers to physicians work stations.
  • Answers telephones, schedules examinations and may initiate transportation.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography technical training program.

Successful completion of one specialty examination within 75 days from date of hire.

Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound / sonography technical training program (as determined by MSHS) within 4 months of accepting this offer. Successful completion of the MSHS hiring process. Commencing work within 14 days of graduation. Successful completion of ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) examination prior to your date of hire.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $31.29 - $60 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
