Qualifications

• Must be within the last semester of graduating or a graduate of an accredited ultrasound program and/or cross-trained from another allied health discipline.
• ARDMS registered or eligible; first registry within 1 year of employment; second registry within the second year of employment.
• ARRT (R) (S) recognized, if above is not applicable.
• Ultrasound Technologists who obtained credentials on the basis of another license in the medical field must maintain both licenses.

Responsibilities

• Practices technology with appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Assesses situations, uses judgment, and acts in the best interest of the patient.
• Provides information to physicians to aid in diagnosis; interpretation is outside the technologist's scope.
• Maintains quality of care and follows standards of practice.

Education

ARDMS registered/eligible; first registry within 12 months; second registry within 24 months

ARRT(R)(S) recognized

Maintain multiple medical licenses if credentialed under another license
