The role you’ll contribute:

The Ultrasound Technologist II performs diagnostic medical sonography procedures, providing high-quality exams for interpretation by a Radiologist. They set up and assist in invasive procedures using ultrasound as a guidance tool and perform tasks necessary for quality patient care. A minimum of 2 registries is required for this role.

• Cooperate with all associates in proper conduct of the department.
• Perform other duties as required by the Radiology Director.
• Follow hospital safety standards and organizational policies.
• Incorporate patient, physician, and customer needs into decision-making.
• Position and transfer patients for exams.
• Assist physicians in invasive procedures, checking lab work pre-exam and delivering specimens with proper paperwork.
• Practice sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
• Maintain accurate records per policies.
• Follow AIDET communication principles at all times.
• Attend at least 50% of scheduled department meetings and obtain information from missed meetings.
• Operate Cerner System proficiently, troubleshooting and correcting orders as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Ultrasound Department.
• Produce quality diagnostic ultrasound images using proper techniques.
• Restock supplies as necessary and perform procedures according to department policies.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Associate’s Degree or graduation from a technical school.

Preferred:

• 2+ years of relevant experience.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration required:

• Registered as Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdominal or OB/GYN (RDMS)
• Two additional registries
• BCLS certification through the American Heart Association
