Job summary

ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah, Wisconsin is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist II to perform a wide range of ultrasound exams (general, OB-GYN, vascular, breast) and evaluate images for diagnostic quality. You will follow ALARA principles, document findings, and support patient safety and comfort in a busy hospital setting. Scheduled weekly hours are 32 with a 0.8 FTE, Friday–Sunday weekend shifts from Friday 8:00 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of clinical experience performing diverse ultrasound exams in a hospital setting.
  • ARDMS RDMS or RVT certifications required; RVT must be earned within 24 months if not already.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and complex ultrasound exams across general, OB-GYN, vascular, and breast imaging.
  • Evaluates images to ensure diagnostic quality and complies with ALARA and safety standards.
  • Completes timely documentation in the electronic medical record and supports imaging management.

Job Description
Schedule

Hours of operation: Sunday - Saturday

Workdays: Friday - Sunday - Weekend only position

Work Hours: Friday - 8-hour shift; Sat & Sun 6:00am - 6:00pm

Key Accountabilities
  • Applies knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology, and uses critical thinking to implement appropriate image techniques using established protocols to acquire required images.
  • Applies critical thinking skills and ensures order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients.
  • Completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance to department policy or procedure including proper imaging management and accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Practices safety at all times, which includes adhering to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles for proper radiation safety for team members and patients using mobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices (proper personal protective equipment), and following hand hygiene to comply with government agencies and other regulatory bodies.
  • Adjusts to changing or unusual circumstances, and is able to care for patients in a variety of settings to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Assists providers in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years clinical experience performing a variety of US procedures (Biopsy, Paracentesis, Clip Placement, Etc.) in a hospital setting.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in a minimum of two (2) certifications; (RDMS) in Abdomen, OB-GYN, Breast, or Pelvic Sonography OR (RVT) Registered Vascular Technologist OR any ARRT equivalent. RVT credential must be earned within 24 months of completing orientation, if not already acquired.
  • BLS certification required.
