Job description

CT Technologist – ThedaCare

SCHEDULE
  • Full time – 36 hrs per week
  • Nights – 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
  • 4th‑weekend rotation; holidays that fall on scheduled day are worked
  • Work in X‑ray and CT departments
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provide professional, empathetic, and compassionate care to team members, patients, families, and significant others; greet patients and assist with dressing, ambulation, and comfort needs.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment and safety practices in CT, interventional radiology, emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services.
  • Perform CT scans, including interventional radiology and cardiology procedures, setting appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
  • Complete department tasks such as stocking supplies, inspecting outdated supplies, performing safety audits and tracking, and cleaning rooms and equipment to remain compliant with regulations and policies.
  • Provide practical instruction to students and other health‑care professionals.
  • Exhibit competency in intravenous access and contrast administration per protocols using aseptic technique.
  • Complete documentation timely and accurately, including image management and electronic medical record entries.
  • Apply critical‑thinking skills to ensure order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients; maintain safety by adhering to ALARA principles, mobilization and immobilization devices, infection prevention, PPE, and hand hygiene.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred); must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Wisconsin license to practice as radiologic technologist.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Climate‑controlled office environment; frequent sitting with movement.
  • Exposure to sharp objects and instruments.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and electrical shock risk.
  • Occasional high noise levels.
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.
  • Occasional contact with aggressive or combative patients.
  • Use of computers; frequent keyboard use with repetitive hand, wrist, and finger motion.
