Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist I under general supervision to perform routine and specialized sonographic procedures for patients of all ages. You will ensure accurate imaging, proper equipment selection, patient identification, and adherence to scanning protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program registry eligible is required.
• Associate’s degree in health sciences or related field is preferred.
• BLS certification is required upon hire.
• ARDMS RDMS or RVT certification required upon hire; registry (AB/OB-GYN/PS/BR) per site.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for patients of all ages with accurate imaging and proper protocol adherence.
• Educate and prepare patients for procedures, obtain histories, and document exams.
• Maintain infection prevention, probe disinfection, sterile technique, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor equipment and room supplies, perform quality control, report issues, and support operations.
• Support quality-improvement initiatives and timely image documentation and transfer to PACS for interpretation.

Education

ARDMS RDMS or RVT certification

BLS Certification

Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program registry eligible
