Qualifications

• Accredited Ultrasound Technologist program completed.
• ARDMS certification required or soon after hire.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes images and addresses image quality issues.
• Administers contrast media and/or medications within scope when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to changes.
• Takes on-call shift as required by the department.
