Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an entry-level ultrasound technologist to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations for physician interpretation across children, adolescents, and adults. The position includes a $20,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Applicants should graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, hold ARDMS eligibility or certification, and maintain current BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• 0–1 year of ultrasound diagnostic procedure experience preferred.
• ARDMS certification or registry eligibility required; must obtain within 12 months.
• BLS certification required at hire and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations for interpretation by a physician.
• Maintain high-quality imaging and adhere to safety and infection control standards.
• Participate in ongoing education and certification requirements.

Minimum Training and Education:

0-1 year year experience in performing ultrasound diagnostic procedures.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible required. If not certified, must obtain certification within the first year of employment. Basic Life Support required upon hire. Thereafter, must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Registration/Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT(S) eligible, must obtain certification within 12 months. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
