Job description

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC)is recruiting for an Ultrasound Technologist I who under training conditions, assists staff with a variety of technical ultrasonic procedures for the diagnosis of disease. Duties include selecting the appropriate transducers for the specific ultrasonic examinations; eliciting the cooperation of patients; explaining procedures and calming the patient's fears; setting up patients and equipment for procedures; and monitoring patients before, during, and after testing and selecting, reviewing and storing ultrasound images.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.

Certification: Must be eligible to take theAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) at time of hire and pass within one (1) year of date of hire. Failure to pass the exam within one (1) year will result in termination.

Work Schedule:Must be available to work Monday through Friday 4pm-midnight and occasional weekends and holidays as needed

Promotion: Ultrasound Technologist I are eligible for promotion to Ultrasound Technologists II upon receipt of a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must promote within twenty-four (24) months or be terminated.

Sponsorship:San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require Visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Certification: Must possess and maintain current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Ob/Gyn, abdominal and adult echo cardiology (for cardiac services only) -OR-be eligible to take the ARDMS examination and pass within one (1) year of date of hire.

Vascular Lab: Must possess and maintain a current Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)License.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience working in a medical environment.
