Job summary

HealthPartners is seeking a diagnostic ultrasound technologist to perform comprehensive ultrasound exams for patients across the lifespan, including abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular studies. You will execute ultrasound-guided procedures and ensure accurate imaging to aid radiologists in diagnosis.

Applicants should hold RDMS and RVT/RVS certifications or be eligible, with BLS certification. This role is based in Minnesota, offering a collaborative, inclusive environment and opportunities for

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited two year allied health program or two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences and completion of a formal medical Sonography training program (one-year minimum) or equivalent experience
  • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) via ARDMS
  • Registered Vascular Technologist/Vascular Technology (RVT/VT) Certification within 180 days of employment via ARDMS or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) via CCI
  • Breast Certification(BR) via ARDMS required within 180 days of employment if breast ultrasound involved
  • OB Certification (OB/GYN) via ARDMS required within 180 days of employment if OB rotation involved
  • Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
  • Ability to answer patient’s questions and operate imaging equipment and recognize normal vs abnormal images

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams across age ranges (pediatric to geriatric)
  • Cover abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular and small parts ultrasound
  • Perform ultrasound-guided procedures (e.g., biopsies, aspirations)
  • Maintain image quality and ensure patient safety and comfort

Job Description

Performs diagnostic Ultrasound examinations to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician under the direction of a Radiologist. Performs abdominal, retroperitoneal, OB/GYN, small part scans, vascular studies, and ultrasound guided procedures, such as cyst aspirations, breast biopsies, needle or breast seed localizations, and abscess drainages. Must be able to recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Completion of an accredited two year allied health program or two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences and completion of a formal medical Sonography training program (one-year minimum) or equivalent experience
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • RDMS(Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) via ARDMS(American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist/Vascular Technology (RVT/VT) Certification within 180 days of employment via ARDMS or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) via CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
  • If employment involves Breast Ultrasound, then Breast Certification(BR) via ARDMS required within 180 days of employment.
  • If employment involves OB Clinic rotation, then OB Certification (OB/GYN) via ARDMS required within 180 days of employment.
  • Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to answer patient’s questions, helping them to understand the procedure
  • Ability to accurately operate and maintain the imaging equipment and recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Minimum of one-year clinical experience in Ultrasound
