Qualifications

  • ARDMS certification or eligibility in one or more specialties (e.g., abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology, vascular).
  • Foundational knowledge of medicine and radiology principles as they relate to diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
  • Experience or training in vascular ultrasound imaging and interpretation of vascular studies.
  • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or radiologic technology program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow clinical protocols, and commitment to patient safety and privacy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, position patients safely, and handle equipment in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Prior experience as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital or clinical environment is preferred.
  • Know anatomy, physiology, and pathology to document on scanned images for PACS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations per physician orders and protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients; operate ultrasound equipment and ensure accurate imaging.
  • Document findings and maintain accurate reports for radiology and clinical teams.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and adhere to infection control and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for timely diagnosis and treatment.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and be available for 24-hour call as needed.
