Ultrasound Techs are responsible for:

  • Explaining radiographic procedures to patients and obtaining complete and accurate histories relevant to the examinations.
  • Independently performing clinical diagnostic examinations, including necessary room preparations.
  • Providing basic patient care as needed.
  • Producing permanent records of diagnostic examinations.

Under the supervision of a Radiologist, Ultrasound Techs operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce images for diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Qualifications include:

  • Completion of a formal training program.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of post-registry experience preferred.
  • RDMS (ARDMS) certification.
