SUMMARY :


The Ultrasonographer, under the direction of a Radiologist, performs total body imaging for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients in various body planes which results in the production of quality images for diagnostic interpretation. Sonographic studies include, but are not limited to: abdomen, vascular, non-pregnant pelvic, and small parts. Provides patient care that is essential to ultrasound imaging, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action, and initiates life support measures. Assists in the optimization of patient flow and study completion.


QUALIFICATIONS:




  • High School Diploma or GED



  • Must have successfully completed a one-year program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography that is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program



  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) at time of hire in either Abdomen or OB/GYN with an 18-month contingency to become registered in both; OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S).



  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained prior to hire date.



  • Must be proficient in Metricide testing and demonstrate knowledge of the probe sterilization process.



  • Proficient in using PACS/EPIC preferred
