The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment, performs a variety of technical procedures, and is responsible for patient care in the area. This role requires population-specific competencies and adherence to national safety standards. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.

Responsibilities

• Performs general ultrasound procedures, including 2D, pulsed wave Doppler, color flow Doppler evaluations on upper and lower extremities, visceral vascular, and carotid imaging.
• Reviews inpatient requisitions, prioritizes patient list based on severity, special procedures, requests, and equipment availability; revises schedules as needed.
• Develops film timely, manipulates laser printer and processor for high-quality images.
• Performs daily quality control checks on equipment and maintains records.
• Manages supplies, ensures sterilization and proper storage of instruments, and prepares rooms.

Qualifications

• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (must obtain ARRT Sonography certification within 90 days of hire).
• Ability to obtain RDMS, RDCS, or RVT certification within 12 months through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• For Breast Sonographers: ARRT Mammography certification, relevant education or experience, CPR certification within 90 days, and effective communication skills.

Additional Details

Position reports to the Lead Ultrasound Technologist and/or Manager/Director. Physical demands include exposure to moveable equipment, chemical fumes, infectious patients, electrical equipment, ionizing radiation, and potential for infection exposure. Work involves irregular hours, overtime, and working in dark rooms up to 60% of the time.
