Community Health Systems seeks an Ultrasound Technologist with echo experience preferred to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams. The role requires independent judgment, patient safety, and accurate documentation in the EHR with PACS integration.

Requirements include ARDMS/ARRT eligibility, BCLS, and 1–3 years of ultrasound experience (2–4 preferred). This full-time position offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits in Carlsbad, NM.

Qualifications

• Proficient in ultrasound imaging techniques and equipment operation.
• ARDMS/ARRT Sonography certification or registry eligibility required.
• BCLS certification required within first week of employment.
• 1–3 years of clinical ultrasound experience, 2–4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all ultrasound procedures independently following protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and ensures correct orders prior to imaging.
• Identifies pathologies during scanning for radiologist interpretation.
• Ensures patient safety, comfort, and infection control.
• Maintains clean, safe, and organized imaging area.
• Operates ultrasound equipment per vendor and department policies.
• Documents procedures and patient data in the EHR; scans to PACS.
• Monitors imaging materials and coordinates inventory as needed.
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance.
