Job summary

Berkshire Health Systems in Massachusetts seeks a qualified ultrasonographer to perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with department and hospital policies.

The role requires ARRT/ARDMS within 2 years of employment, completion of an approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program, and the ability to operate portable equipment while maintaining sterile technique in a high‑pressure setting.

Qualifications

• Three years experience as Ultrasonographer preferred.
• Must have completed approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program.
• Additional registration and state license as a diagnostic technologist preferred
• ARRTS - Registered Sonographer through ARRT or ARDMS within 2 years of employment.
• BLS - BLS is required.
• If you are currently employed and possess a Massachusetts Diagnostic Radiography License and Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, you must be maintain these credentials throughout your employment.
• Must be proficient in Abdominal, Pelvic, and Obstetrical , dvt studies of arms and legs and obtaining images using portable equipment.
• Must be familiar with sterile technique and set up of sterile trays.
• Ability to function independently and proficiently.
• Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis.
• Ability to function in a high stress, work intensive environment.
• Must be able to use independent judgment and ingenuity.
• Initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• This role performs a wide variety of technical procedures to ensure the proper care of the patients in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
• May be responsible to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist.
