Job summary

Kindred Hospital Tarrant County Southwest in Fort Worth seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and support physician diagnosis in a LTAC setting.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary graduate of accredited Ultrasound or Radiologic Tech program is required.
• Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Radiologic Technology is preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT – Sonography or equivalent credential upon hire or within facility timeframe is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures of specified body areas and position patients for imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients and/or family to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety.
• Develop films using automatic processing and deliver to Radiologist for interpretation.
• Prepare or clean patient rooms, stock supplies, and maintain a clean working environment.
• Assist physicians with procedures by scanning patient and marking puncture sites as requested.
• Schedule patients and ensure timely service.
• Maintain patient information and filing of reports/films to ensure accurate records.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment with regular cleaning/testing and report malfunctions.
• Perform other related duties as directed.
