Position Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist meets the needs of patients and families by delivering excellent patient care and performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a compassionate and safe manner. Utilizes ultrasound equipment to produce quality diagnostic images, following established practices. Contributes to a positive work environment and maintains accurate records by reviewing physician orders and completing all post-exam activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for imaging exams by reviewing provider orders, assessing needs, and providing education.
• Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health systems and department-specific programs.
• Complete scheduled and unscheduled work efficiently, assisting others to maximize productivity.
• Stay current in the field through continuing education, self-study, and research.

Selection Criteria

• RDMS - ARDMS registration in Abdomen or OB/GYN or eligible with completion within 6 months of hire.
• RVT – ARDMS registration in Vascular or RVS – ARRT registration in vascular or completion within one year of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification or obtained within six months of hire.

Schedule

• Varying days/shifts, including weekday shifts from 6:30am to 7:00pm.
• Requires two call weeknights per month and one call weekend every 7 weeks, with a 45-minute report time.
