Job Summary

Coordinates and prioritizes ultrasound exams with nursing, radiologists, and physicians. Performs exams following departmental protocols, ensuring patient care quality. Operates ultrasound equipment proficiently.



Essential Functions

  • Verifies requests and orders for each patient
  • Assists radiologists with invasive procedures
  • Ensures high technical quality of exams and develops efficient techniques
  • Supports Patient-Centered Care by understanding the role of every staff member as a Caregiver
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors or engineers
  • Uses radiology computer systems for data entry and billing
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area and ensures supplies are stocked
  • Follows departmental rules and maintains professionalism

Physical Requirements

Requires moderate to heavy physical effort, including lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies up to 600 pounds with assistance. Involves walking, standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Requires reading, comprehension, motor coordination, and intact sight and hearing.



Education, Experience, and Certifications

Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Radiologic Technologists is required. A graduate of a diagnostic ultrasound program is preferred. BLS certification is required. Good interpersonal skills are necessary.
