Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Day Shift (8:00am-4:30pm)

As an Ultrasound Tech at East Cooper OB/GYN, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound tests in an outpatient OB/GYN setting, working independently and with the healthcare team to deliver quality care to women at various pregnancy stages.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams to assess anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
- Maintain and update electronic patient records, including sonographic data and observations.
- Ensure proper documentation in ultrasound reporting, image storage, and EMR systems. Obtain medical history and assist with preliminary reports.
- Use independent judgment during exams to differentiate normal and pathological findings.
- Select appropriate transducers, adjust equipment, and optimize images based on patient specifics.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions when possible.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure they are informed prior to exams.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing compassionate care.
- Perform various ultrasound procedures to evaluate organs and fetal development.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment readiness.
- Participate in quality initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and workflow.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma/GED and Technical School Diploma in Ultrasonography or Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in outpatient OB/GYN ultrasound.
- Licensure/Certification: Current state certification/license (or license eligible). CPR certification required. ECHO certification preferred.
- Additional Skills:
- Experience with first-trimester, low-risk exams, fetal anatomy surveys, and routine prenatal care.
- Knowledge of advanced imaging techniques (e.g., 3D/4D).
- Experience with sonography equipment and applications.
- Familiarity with medical equipment and Electronic Health Systems.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
- Ability to provide effective patient care, including physical activity and body mechanics.
- Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
