Job summary

Southcoast Health in Wareham, MA is seeking a talented Ultrasound Technologist to join Tobey Hospital. The technician will perform diagnostic sonography exams, ensure patient safety, and maintain image quality per ALARA principles.

Candidates must have an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular Technology program, ARDMS/CCI/ARRT certification, and BLS. The position offers day/evening shifts, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular Technology program.
• Primary certification from ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT in Sonography.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide diversified clinical patient care within Radiology as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment for exams.
• Select and adjust technical factors to produce quality images.
• Educate patients for exams and document data in the EHR.
• Adhere to ALARA and MR safety principles; assist physicians in procedures.

We are searching for a talented Ultrasound Technologist

*$10,000 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift, 12:30pm - 9:00pm with shift and on call coverage every fourth weekend, weeknight on call coverage, holiday rotation call coverage

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient*s chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Aware of the principles of ALARA and MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures.

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular Technology and attainment of primary certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, the Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Sonography is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
