Job description

Overview

Ultrasound Technologist – Full‑time position at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. The role requires passion for general ultrasound and strong customer service skills.

Shift Details

Second Shift: 80 hours per pay period, first week Monday–Friday 8:00AM–6:30PM with rotating day off; every third week additional shift and weekend coverage at 10:30AM–9:00PM.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality diagnostic medical sonograms under supervision to ensure accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Coordinate required resources for diagnostic ultrasound service delivery.
  • Problem‑solve and expedite communication with other health‑care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in department operations and decision making, modeling effective teamwork and fiscal responsibility.
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in abdomen and OB/GYN ultrasound.
  • Proficiency in basic computer navigation and email applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and multi‑task.
  • Ability to handle difficult customer interactions and appropriately escalates to management.
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification within one year of hire or transfer date.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in neurosonology and vascular ultrasound.
  • Bachelor’s of science degree.
  • Formal education in neurosonology and vascular ultrasound.
  • Current ARDMS certification.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification.
